He Shot, He Scored
The book covers many aspects of Peter’s life from his childhood in Derby to his record-breaking goal-scoring exploits at Brighton and Hove Albion. Rocketing from non-league football to the full England squad, having only played one full season of professional football, Peter looks back at what are still remembered as ‘the golden years’ at Brighton. The book describes Peter’s transition from experiencing virtually non-stop success at Brighton to mixed fortunes at Nottingham Forest under the legendary management duo of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.
Since his professional playing days finished, Peter has continued to be involved in soccer having a very successful amateur playing career and also coaching kids soccer and running soccer camps.
Leaving England for the USA, Peter’s career kick started again as he was named the NASL’s Most Valuable Player in 1982 having led the Seattle Sounders to the national final. For the next 15 years Peter ventured across North America playing for a number of teams in a variety of professional leagues, meeting many interesting characters on the way.
